Two or More devices ( Computers, printers etc) when connected through a medium, we call it as network. The process of sending data from device to another device is called networking.
What should we need to form a network?
If we want to connect two devices we need a medium.
Mediums are two types:
Connecting with help of wires ( Wired)
Connecting without wires ( Wireless)
We can configure a network with the help of any one among these two mediums.
To configure a network every device should have System Identity, Domain Name, Network Id ( i.e IP Address)
System Identity: This is your computer name. Normally you may have been given while installing OS(Operating System). Now if you want to see Go To: My Computer and Right Click on it. Then select Properties option. Search for computer name.
Domain Name: When the devices forms as a group in the network we call it as Domain. Every computer has a domain name. This is also given while installing OS. Now if you want to see Go To: My Computer and Right Click on it. Then select Properties option. Search for Workgroup.
Network ID/IP Address: IP Address is normally given by the Network Administrator. Like domain name network id applies to only computers or devices.
