The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold a written Examination on 9th October 2011 for recruitment of 497 posts (BSF-111, CRPF-213, CISF-15, ITBP-36, SSB-122) of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Police Forces (CPF) viz BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB.

Eligibility:

• Age : Not less than 20 years and not more than 25 years as on 1st August, 2011. The upper age is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
  
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree of any recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
  
• Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice.
  
• Sex : Both male and female candidates are eligible for appointment to CRPF and CISF. However, only male candidates are eligible for appointment to BSF, ITBP and SSB.
  
• Possession of NCC B or C Certificate will be a desirable qualification. The desirable qualifications will be given consideration at the time of Interview/ Personality Test only.
• Pay Scale : PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 grade pay Rs.5400/-
  

Selection Procedure : Selection will be based on the basis of a written examination to be conducted on 09/10/2011 by the UPSC followed by Physcial Standards/ Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Standards Test to be conducted by the Miistry of Home Affairs and the Personality Test/ Interview to be condusted by UPSC.

• Qualification: Degree from any recognized University plus pass in Hindi Typewriting examination with 25 w.p.m speed and pass in English Typewriting examination with 30 w.p.m speed. Should have thorough knowledge in the operation of Computers for Word Processing / data entry etc. both in Hindi and English. Should be conversant with Office procedures.
• Hindi Translator Trainee: 03 Posts
• Qualification: BA in Hindi from a recognized university and Diploma in Translation (i.e Hindi to English and vice-versa) from a recognized university / institution or incase of serving candidates, Translation Training course of 3 months durations from a Central Translation Bureau is essential.
• Vigilance Trainee : 18 Posts
• Qualification: Graduates (BA/BSc/BCom etc) with relevant certificates of proficiency in Typing, Stenography, PC Operations etc as the case may be. (OR) SSLC + Diploma in Commercial and Computer Practice / Diploma in Commercial Practice / Diploma in Secretarial Practice + one year Apprentiship. 
• Vigilance Trainee: 06 Posts
• Qualification: Post Graduates (MA/MSc/MCom etc) with relevant certificates of proficiency in Typing, Stenography, PC Operations etc as the case may be. (OR) University Degree + Diploma in Commercial and Computer Practice / Diploma in Commercial Practice / Diploma in Secretarial Practice. Diploma in Commercial and Computer Practice / Diploma in Commercial Practice / Diploma in Secretarial Practice should be acquired from the State Board of Technical Education.
• Security Guard: 46 Posts
• Qualification: Ex-Servicemen(Combatant) with 3 years of experience + SSLC Pass + knowledge of kannada and hands on experience in operating computer preferred + Possessing valid Driving Licence to drive two /
  four wheelers desirable. 
• Fireman: 10 Posts
• Qualification: Ex-Servicemen with HSc or equivalent qualification in Defence Services with basic Fire Fighting course from any reputed institute / Defence Services / Paramilitary forces along with valid Heavy Vehicle driving licence and 5 years experience in Fire Fighting desirable.
• Aircraft Technician (Avionics – Mirage, Jaguar), (Mechanic – Jaguar) – XSM - On contract basis: 08  Posts
• Qualification: Diploma in Engineering
• Aircraft Technician (Engine/Airframe/SEW/ Radio/Armament/Radar/ Instrument/Elect) – XSM - On contract basis: 34  Posts
• Qualification: Diploma in Engineering
• Aircraft Technician(Engine) – XSM On contract basis: 02 Posts
• Qualification: Diploma in Engineering. Minimum 5 years in IAF handling Aircraft Engine, Adour Engine Test Bed experience preferable.
