Armed Police Forces Examination - 2012 Details

Eligibility: Any Graduate, Must meet the prescribed Physical Standards.
Age: Should be 20 - 25 yrs. Age Relaxation will be there according to the Terms.

Selection Procedure: Will be based according on Written Test, Physical Tests, Medical Tests and Interview.
Note: Only Male Candidates are Eligible for BSF and ITBP Posts., Even Female Candidates Can also apply for CRPF, CISF, SSB Posts.
Written Test: Written Test will Consist of Two papers. Paper 1 and Paper 2 respectively. They will conduct the exam on the same day i.e one in the morning and the other in the Afternoon. Questions will be asked in English and Hindi Languages. In the Paper 1 questions will be for 250 Marks asked on General Ability and Intelligence subjects. In Paper 2 They will ask Questions for 200 Marks on General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension.
You have to score minimum qualify marks in each paper. If you got the qualify marks in Paper-1 then only they will move to Paper-2 for Evaluation. There will be Negative Marking for wrong answers marked by a candidate.
Physical Efficiency Test:
Physical Efficiency Tests will be Conducted for the candidates who have passed in Written test.

Medical Tests will be conducted for the candidates who will pass in Physical Efficiency tests. Interviews will be conducted for the candidates who will pass in Medical Tests. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 Marks.. The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.
Preparation:
Paper 1: In this few questions will be asked on Mathematics and Different Social elements to know the candidates General awareness. For this you have to read 8,9,10th class Text books of Maths, Science and Social studies of NCERT.
Questions regarding on Current Affairs will be asked in Paper-1. To face this questions you have to know about the famous persons who got awards in Arts, Music, Poetry and Games. Should know the Main Agreements which happened between different countries. Mainly you should know about all the Agreements between India and the other nations. Have to remember the Main Events which happened around the Globe.
You can easily recognize the answers for Politics, Economy, Geography if you read NCERT High school social books and concerned subjects of NCERT 11th and 12th class books.
To answer questions for reasoning which will be asked in Mental Ability and the Aptitude questions you have to buy the concerned books which will be available in the market.
You can be able to answer the questions for General science questions if you read the latest developments mainly on IT, Bio Technology, and Environment related subjects.
Paper-2: You have to write the Essay questions in Part-A in this Paper. To write the Answers for this questions you have to read the books of 8,9,10th social studies and the Subjects of 11,12th classes(Economy, Geography, Politics, History) thoroughly. You should practice writing essay by choosing one Topic daily. Don't write everything which you know for the questions what they asked. Write within the topic. If that topic contains Popular quotations and Calculations please add them. If that topic has latest developments add them also then the Essay will be Perfect. Students should allot more time for the Essay preparation. They have to master the Grammar skills, construction of a sentence to score good marks.
Part-B contains comprehension, Grammar...Like this the questions will be asked to know your proficiency in English language. Read some good English grammar book. Practice daily writing Grammar, constructing sentences, comprehension etc( Mainly focus on Synonyms, Antonyms, Articles, Prepositions, Verbs and Tenses..).
Physical Efficiency Test:
The physical efficiency test of Assistant Commandant will be some what easier than the Sub Inspector exam which will be conducted state wide. But you should prepare for physical efficiency test from now onwards along with exam preparation. Try running 100 Meters race daily 3 times and 800 Meters race for 3 times. Check after one month that how much time are you able to run. It is wrong to think to run a distance in the given time. Then you have to face problems physically.
Practice Long Jump, Short Put from now onwards. These too are easy goals. It is not so hard to achieve the wanted goals for your examination in one month if you set short term goals and keep on practicing. Practice long jump on the Land which have enough sand.
Interview:
In Interview they will know your Mental Ability. You have to know the basic knowledge of BSF, CISF, SSB, CRPF, ITBP. Should know thoroughly about what service you chose. There is a chance for asking question related to Police Deparment and Defece field. So get the basic knowledge about these areas. If you are honest and giving answers perfectly it is easy to score good marks in Interview.
Syllabus Overview:
Paper I : General Ability and Intelligence
The objective type questions with multiple choices in this paper will broadly cover the following areas:
1. General Mental Ability
The questions will be designed to test the logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude
including numerical ability, and data interpretation.
2. General Science
The questions will be set to test general awareness, scientific temper, comprehension and appreciation of scientific phenomena of everyday observation
including new areas of importance like Information Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Science.
3. Current Events of National and International Importance:
The questions will test the candidates’ awareness of current events of national and international importance in the broad areas of culture, music, arts, literature, sports, governance, societal and developmental issues, industry, business, globalisation, and interplay among nations.
4. Indian Polity and Economy:
The questions shall aim to test candidates’ knowledge of the Country’s political system and the Constitution of India, social systems and public administration,
economic development in India, regional and international security issues and human rights including its indicators.
5. History of India :
The questions will broadly cover the subject in its social, economic and political aspects. This shall also include the areas of growth of nationalism and freedom
movement.
6. Indian and World Geography:
The questions shall cover the physical, social and economic aspects of geography pertaining to India and the World.
Paper II : General Studies, Essay and Comprehension
Part-A – Essay questions which are to be answered in long narrative form either in Hindi or English totalling 80 Marks. The indicative topics are modern Indian history especially of the freedom struggle, geography, polity and economy, knowledge of security and human rights issues, and analytical ability.
Part-B – Comprehension, précis writing, other communications/language skills – to be attempted in English only (Marks 120) – The topics are Comprehension passages, précis writing, developing counter arguments, simple grammer and other aspects of language testing.
