Amid fears of an attack by al Qaeda,
the United States will temporarily close 22 of its embassies and
consulates on Sunday. A global travel alert issued on Friday by the
State Department said al Qaeda may launch attacks in the Middle East,
North Africa and beyond in coming weeks.
