Vauxhall Victor Hits 220mph in 6.6 Seconds - becomes the world world’s fastest-accelerating street legal car

by

When we talk about the world's fastest cars, usually the pictures of Ferrari or Bugatti come in our minds. But there is a new car which breaks all the previous cars' records of world’s fastest-accelerating street legal car. Its name is Vauxhall Victor. It has reached a speed of 219.29 meters per hour in just 6.714 seconds and has created a new position for itself in the category of fastest cars.
This car showcased its speed in the recent F.I.E. European Dragging Racing Championship.
The championship happened at Santa Pod from 1st June to 4th June. Wolverhampton's Andy Frost drove this Vauxhall Victor car with high speed and made a record.

In this competition this was the only car which was pro-modified and it has participated in MSA British Dragging Race Championship.

Before this, Corvette and Rod Saboury cars had covered 250 meters in 6.75 seconds. If you estimate the performance in terms of per hour basis, then these cars had touched the finish line in 209 km per hour.

Madagascar 3 Europe’s Most Wanted Review

by

After their stint in Madagascar and Africa in the prequels, the gang of animal escapees from the New York City zoo continues its world tour with a lively, cool and funky adventure through the picturesque European cities in the correctly-titled Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.
The movie starts off with Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo stranded in Africa by their crafty penguin chums, who’ve taken off with their airplane for some high-stakes gambling with a bunch of monkeys in Monte Carlo. They promise to come back and take the rest of the gang home. As the foursome are running out of patience they decide to go to Europe by themselves along with king Julien and his posse. They somehow reach Europe. But they get embroiled into some situations, and pretty soon the gang is chased by a psychotic animal-control chief, Chantel DuBois, who seems to be firm on capturing her first lion so that it would add to her glories. It is a mad chase but a funny one!
They escape her and meet a circus heading to Rome, and offer to join the troupe with a package of fresh tricks to enliven the circus acts. The 3D effect adds to the laughter and vivid colors. It gets fast paced and seems to leave you slightly confused and feel lost due to some loopholes.
There are a few cute moments too. Like lemur king Julien’s romance with a big she-bear on a bicycle, and the sheer bonhomie that develops between our four leads and the new friends they make in the circus. Julien’s sidekick Maurice has a funny moment too and Marty doing his Afro circus song was ticklish to the mind. But more than often, the movie simply resorts to the slapstick and foolish humor. The penguins aren’t funny anymore. Their acts and tactics seem jaded after some time.

Madagascar 3 is light, enough fresh and not-that-funny film. It should have been edited after a careful consideration. The film is good in bits and pieces; however, it doesn’t make an impact as a whole film. You feel that the enough sequels have been made as this one leaves you nostalgic about the prequels and uninterested in the next ones.

It’s all about balance

by

Recently a friend of mine was diagnosed with a thyroid problem; in scientific terms we call it as hypothyroid syndrome, wherein, one of the hormones maintaining the overall activities of the body goes out of the balance by spiraling beyond the normal range. When I told about this thyroid problem to a medico person, she said this problem is quite prevalent in the urban areas. This is one of the health problems which is known to almost every person living in cities due to its widespread nature.

In this fast world everything is on a fast track, be it earning a quick buck or having food. This constant yearning for needs which are to be possessed in a short duration, leads to compensation in other essential aspects of one’s life. Normally, an educated mass migrates to metropolitan cities to earn money and to enjoy a lavish life style. Most of them spend the time in working for 12 hours and in commuting from home to office for some 1-2 hours or may be even more. Also, computers have made our jobs pretty sedentary. So, one hardly gets time to exercise on the daily basis. Everyone is aware of this fact: exercising daily vitalizes the organs, oxidizes the carbs and increases the blood circulation.

Usually, a person would munch on a quickly cooked food rather than waste her/his time in having a wholesome meal. There is a fad of having soft drinks which contain dangerous preservatives. And, there is a tendency of flaunting the coolness factor by crunching the deep fried food or the fatty food items. These habits deprive that person of nourishments which are essential for maintaining the body system.

Overdoing one’s job or indulging heavily in a sedentary lifestyle by sacrificing the basic needs of having healthy food and regular exercise does not fulfill one’s goal of living a life. There is no balance. Imbalance leads to health problems including stress, unusual weight gain/loss, thyroid problems and many more health problems.

So does one have to sacrifice the entire aforementioned aspects of lifestyle to attain a normal and healthy lifestyle?

No!

You just have to customize your life and reach the work-life-balance by accommodating the following 8 changes!

  1. Have loads of vegetables in your regular meals. Do not skip or substitute the wholesome meals by fast food.
  2. Drink plenty of water per hour (take many sips as per your comfort level).
  3. Make a schedule for exercise at least for 1 hour of any 4 days per week or join a gym/yoga class/aerobics class. If you don’t enjoy such mundane workout then join a dance class or swimming. How lovely and rejuvenating can it be!
  4. Regular health check ups so that you are aware of what is going on in your system!
  5. Develop some hobbies wherein your mind is taken off the daily activities and you would grow as a person.
  6. Make trips so that you get to travel and meet new people. It is very interesting to learn about new people and new customs. Try it once if never done before!
  7. Learn to pray to god regularly (only for theists). If you are an atheist (even theists can try this), then let your compassionate side get unraveled by working in an NGO or helping out some poor kid. See for yourself, how rewarding it can be!
  8. Hang out/spend time with family/friends once in a while, so that your mind gets refreshed and you would connect to your dear and near ones on regular basis. This is truly a celebration to be alive and kicking!
