Making sequels to successful films has been proved super successful in world cinema and even in Bollywood. Somehow sequels didn't click in Telugu cinema. Shankardada MBBS was a big hit, but the sequel failed to make an impact unlike Bollywood's Munnabhai series. Munnabhai second installment was a big hit than the first one.
When a sequel was made to hugely successful Arya, it was not received well by our audience. Even Ram Gopal Varma failed to set the trend with Money sequel. When Raktha Charitra was released in two parts, second volume had been out rightly rejected at the box office. A successful film's sequels usually do well because of the brand value. Bollywood has been making so many sequels and all of them have been successful.
Someone has to come up with a solid film to set the trend in Tollywood. Looks like Mahesh Babu has put up his hand for the cause. Srinu Vytla and Mahesh Babu are in plans to make a sequel to Dookudu as per the news circles. If they could break the jinx, then we could see more and more sequels in making. Good luck Mahesh!
